How it works
- Enter the part Type or paste the part number off the machine or the parts list. Blue Book fills in the brand and appliance on its own.
- It finds the repair Every part is looked up in the job rate guide to find the repair and its labour code, from C1 for a quick fix at the front up to X22 for a sealed system. Labour is priced by how hard the job is to get at, not by the hour.
- It prices the part Look it up on Marcone for cost, retail and stock. The part is marked up on a curve, so cheap parts carry a bigger percentage than expensive ones.
- You quote the total Service call + labour + part. The service call depends on the brand and appliance, so a premium brand is priced as one.
